ABOUT LAUREN
Lauren Nielsen (she/her) - ADDCA (Trained ADHD Coach), BA (Hons), BHSc, Dip Ed
My mission as a Neurodiversity coach is to empower people to thrive in a world that often isn’t designed for the way their minds work. I help clients reframe ADHD and AuDHD as a unique neurological difference rather than a deficit, recognising the creativity, intuition, and potential it brings. Through a holistic approach that integrates mind, body, and soul, I support clients in developing self-awareness, resilience, and sustainable strategies for daily life. My work centres on fostering balance, self-compassion, and fulfilment, reminding every individual that they are not broken, but brilliantly different, and capable of creating a meaningful, joyful life.
Lauren Nielsen is the face, mind, and body behind Bright Fox ADHD Coaching. Lauren, a highly trained coach with extensive experience across the education, health, and communications sectors, provides coaching through Bright Fox for people with ADHD and AuDHD.
She has a years-long passion for Neurodivergence and was diagnosed with AuDHD herself in her early 40s. Laurens’ children are also neurodivergent with AuDHD and ASD, respectively. She therefore has lived experience personally, as an individual and as a parent, navigating schools, workplaces, social situations, and the world with a neurodivergent diagnosis. She is a strong and passionate advocate for growing understandings of what challenges people living with ADHD and AuDHD face every day and enjoys empowering her clients by helping them uncover the tools they need for themselves and their loved ones to thrive.
Before becoming a coach, Lauren built a strong background in both Education and Health, gaining extensive expertise in human development, inclusive education, mental and physical health, and overall well-being. Her multiple degrees cover a wide range of subjects, from brain development and learning differences to nutrition and mental health. Known as a trusted sounding board for those seeking clarity, Lauren now uses coaching as a way to bring together her diverse skills and years of experience to help empower her clients to create meaningful, lasting change in their lives.
Lauren’s journey with neurodivergence began at birth, though as a child she never understood why she didn’t fit the behavioural or academic expectations placed on her at school. Throughout her teens she searched for answers and received a misdiagnosis, something she tried to accept, even though it never truly felt right.
Her wide range of interests meant that her studies and career path shifted throughout her 20s and 30s. She eventually became a business owner alongside her husband, after having already worked as a teacher, a Doctor of Chinese Medicine, and more. It wasn’t until she began advocating for her children that she finally discovered her own diagnosis. Conversations about her children with psychologists and paediatricians about ADHD traits, ASD traits, and eventually AuDHD felt uncannily like conversations about her own childhood.
While managing communications, client relationships, and marketing within their nursery business, Lauren took the time to explore these diagnoses from an adult, particularly female, perspective. This exploration ultimately led to her own AuDHD diagnosis and, at last, a clear understanding of why she had always felt different.
During her research, Lauren discovered and experienced the field of ADHD/AuDHD coaching and immediately knew it was the path she wanted to take. She loved helping bring joy to people through the plant business, but she missed the deep sense of connection and empowerment she had felt in her earlier careers.
As an ADHD/AuDHD coach, Lauren is able to blend her professional experience with her lived experience, offering clients understanding, empathy, and practical support. The work is profoundly fulfilling for her, honouring who she is while recognising each client as an individual with their own strengths, expertise, and unique story.
Lauren lives with her husband and two teenage children in Melbourne, Australia, but can offer her coaching services internationally, conducting sessions virtually via Zoom.
Lauren is a member of AADPA (Australasian ADHD Professionals Association), as well as LDA (Learning Difficulties Australia). She regularly builds upon her existing neurodivergent knowledge through professional development.
